We discuss the use case, users, operating environment, existing systems and constraints. The scope should identify deliverables, responsibilities, dependencies and acceptance criteria before work begins.
02 / Design
Make the interfaces explicit.
We review the architecture, component choices, power, connectivity and software boundaries. Design decisions are considered together with manufacturing, maintenance and verification needs.
03 / Integrate
Build and learn in focused iterations.
Hardware, firmware and applications are developed against the agreed interfaces. Prototype work addresses important technical uncertainties; findings inform the next iteration and any scope changes.
04 / Verify
Check, document and hand over.
We compare the outputs with agreed requirements, record findings, retest corrections and prepare the technical files and documentation. Remaining limitations and follow-up responsibilities should be visible at handover.
